For all the
up-and-coming destinations around the world that you’ll be seeing on “Best of
2016” travel lists this month, it’s worth looking back to see where people were
actually talking about. Facebook does that with its Year in Review list,
ranking the places people mentioned most in 2015.
And the winners? People
apparently love theme parks more than ever, because Disney Properties was the
most-Facebooked place in the world, followed by Universal Studios Properties.
No. 3 on the list is Times Square in New York, and as we know it has its own
share of costumed characters. This is the same top three as last year’s list.
Facebook says its list
is based on posts made between January and December, and the user data was
anonymized.

Two Paris places – the
Eiffel Tower and the Louvre – made the top 10 list after none last year, and we
can only wonder whether that’s related to the terror attacks it suffered in
January and November.
