Comic book fans have a
busy year ahead as more adventures from the Marvel and the DC Comics universes
await. Suicide Squad and Batman v. Superman are just two of the highly
anticipated superhero action titles hitting the big screen in 2016, but forget
them for a second, because there’s an even hotter rumor in the movie world.
It appears that Will
Smith will bring his Deadshot character from Suicide Squad to a new standalone
Batman movie starring Ben Affleck, who’s also expected to direct.
The news comes from
Latino Review, which reports that Will Smith signed on for multiple Deadshot
appearances. That means he’ll likely appear in various movies in the coming
years, and teaming up with Batman sounds like a very exciting proposition.
If Deadshot joins
Batman in the movie, it’ll be a “major role,” the site says, for a “The Good,
The Bad, and The Ugly” scenario.
The new Batman movie
might similar to Batman v. Supermen, focusing on multiple superheroes (and
villains) rather than a new movie in the Batman saga.
And if you’re wondering
whether Batman and Deadshot can really work together, well, then you should
know they partner up in the comics as well. They did so most recently in this
year’s issue 23 of Batman: Arkham Knight.
